In Search of…Sunday: Who Ate My Blog, and FGWT

While catching up on blogs yesterday, I noticed that I’d received an email from Stephen Vinson who runs Who Ate My Blog.  Stephen is an amazing man on a mission to lose over 400 pounds; he’s already lost 230.  If you’ve never visited his blog before, it’s a very inspirational read.

Yesterday, the Birmingham News featured an article on Stephen and the progress he’s made on his weight loss journey.  This in itself is very exciting news, however Stephen’s email was to let me know that Fat Girl Wearing Thin was also mentioned in the article – particularly our Hate-Loss Challenge.  You can read the full article here.

While on this topic, I received quite a few emails yesterday asking if it was too late to sign up.  The answer is No, it’s never too late!  This is a personal growth experiment and  anyone is welcome to join in at any time during the month.  Just read the info page, print out your words and go!

One more thing: I have been having server issues this past week.  My site has been unavailable periodically both to me and the rest of the world.  I am working with my host to resolve this issue, so please bear with me if you try to access my site and are unable.

Have a peaceful Sunday, everyone.  See you back here tomorrow :)

Thank you, Karen. It would be a lovely thing to know that this is somehow making a difference; I know it will for me – I began my part of the challenge yesterday and it’s definitely not as easy as it looks!

Ellen!!! That is so awesome that you got a mention and that it is about the H-L Challenge. It is such a wonderful thing and you are such an inspiration! So very cool for both you, Stephen and the other bloggers who were mentioned! You never cease to amaze me with your posts and the ideas you come up with!

The cool thing is that this challenge is about ‘US’; everyone who is involved in this is an inspiration because it’s not an easy challenge (I’m already struggling a bit..looking forward to posting my frustrations! lol)

Karla, wait until you read my challenge update on Thursday; if it goes anything like it has the past 2 days, it’s going to be a LONG month. Definitely not as easy as it looks. Just remember, the beginning of ANY exercise program is hard at first, right?

Thank you for letting me know about your success in getting through to my blog today, Jenn. If I didn’t get occasional feedback, I’d never know half of what’s going on. And thank you for the nod on the article. :)

I did have problems earlier today logging on to your blog; glad you are only having temporary problems – a total crash is always very scary.

Stephen’s article/post/interview was very good read. Glad you posted the link. Was it sort of an odd feeling to have the original article/post mention you? It can be a funny feeling when it isn’t a blog that you ‘know’. VERY nice of Stephen to let you know you had been mentioned.

You know, Vickie…the thing is, I never would have known that article existed had Stephen not emailed me about it. Well, I guess that’s not entirely true – I visit his blog and he posted it on there so I may have come across it, but it is kind of strange that I have no control over where I’ll end up…does that make any sense? I’m grateful in this case because it was a positive thing, but it just goes to show the power of the Internet.

Do you want my dog’s autograph as well? I don’t think he needs permission from Oprah’s dog…..that way you get a two-for-one deal!

So *that*’s why I couldn’t access your blog this morning! I thought it was my computer acting up.

Congratulations on the mention, your hate-loss challenge deserves as much promotion as possible – so many people harbour negative mindsets towards their bodies and their lives, it is a brilliant idea.

I’m holding my breath in the hopes that my blog doesn’t suddenly implode or something – I’d have no idea how to recover! Thank you for your comment on the challenge. :)
